2010-06-20 VEHICLES OF YESTERYEAR FATHER’S DAY - 20TH JUNE 2010 We are planning an exciting new event at Mount Stewart celebrating vintage vehicles which we are certain will become another favourite family day out on our annual calendar. A special day out for Father’s (and Mothers and children). The event will be called Vehicles of Yesteryear and we will feature both vintage and classic cars, around 100 of will be on display at the north front of the Mansion House. Although not compulsory, we hope to tempt our entrants, and visitors, to appear in period costume - or just an appropriate hat – with the promise of a special prize for best outfit. In addition, a small memento of the day will be presented to the driver of each vehicle. Children’s activities and music will also be part of the entertainment. Tours of the house will be offered on a free-flow, go as you please, system. Our wonderful gardens will be in full bloom, and our catering team will be offering an especially themed menu. The entrance fee will be £7 per car, payable on application. Vehicles without applications will be parked in overflow car park and charged £10. The event will also feature a Vintage Fair which will include vintage clothing, accessories etc, crafts, Auto jumble, children’s entertainment including a bouncy castle, and rides on routemaster bus.
