The East Antrim Old Vehicle Club was formed in 1995 and is based in Carrickfergus. There are now 100 members from all over Northern Ireland. The club is non-sectarian and is a non-profit making organisation.

In the summer month beginning from April, the club organises different runs taking in most of the countryside of the province. The club has been responsible for organising the Belfast-Portrush Historic Cavalcade for the last five years. We have more than 110 vehicles taking part and well over 200 people attending the dinner at the end of the day. This event now has become our main Charity event.

In the past we have raised money for different charities and hope that the club has helped many people in the community. New members are always welcome. The membership form is available from the secretary. We publish a monthly newsletter, which is sent to each member. The club is affiliated to the Association of Old Vehicles Clubs in Northern Ireland Ltd.

Meets Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus - 7.30pm, first Tuesday of each month

The club was formed in 1965 by a few enthusiastic people who were interested in the restoration and use of motorcycles over 30 years of age. The club has a membership of 300 and is well known throughout Northern Ireland.

We have close links with various other clubs in both Scotland and the Republic of Ireland. We are affiliated to The Association of Old Vehicle Clubs in Northern Ireland better known as "the AOVC" We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (excluding July) in the British Legion Hall, Montgomery Road, Belfast. We have a friendly meeting at which there are club speakers, slide shows, quiz nights and displays of members’ motorcycles.

During the four summer months we have regular Tuesday night runs commencing at various venues. These have proven to be very popular with the members. We have six Saturday runs and two Sunday runs and a special home and away to Scotland with the West of Scotland VMCC. Listed among our distinguished members were Stanley Woods, Rex McCandless and Artie Bell to name but a few.

A very warm welcome.

Members of the Club come from a wide area of the Province but the centre of interest would still be focused on the Banbridge area. With a membership of around 300, Banbridge Old Vehicle Club is one of the largest independent Old Vehicle Clubs in the United Kingdom.

The club holds its meetings at the Banbridge Rugby Clubhouse, on the last Tuesday of each month (except December). We have more than ample room and excellent parking facilities, so you are very welcome to come along and join us.

We are able to hold small entertainment nights in the form of video presentations and presentations from local vehicle businesses.

We are a non profit making organisation and any profit from our shows and events throughout the year are donated to Registered Charities. We produce a 24 page magazine every 3 months keeping everyone up to date on club events and happenings which is mailed to all club members.

The Classic Rover Club (NI) was formed in 1996 by members of the P6 ROC (NI), P4 DG (NI) and the RP5 OC (NI) and was initially for owners of all Classic Rovers up to the end of SD1 production.

At the end of the year 2000, membership was widened to include owners of any Rover Car. However, care has been taken to preserve the original objectives whilst allowing them to be appreciated on a wider basis.

Our club meets on the second Monday of each month at 8.00pm at the Ivanhoe Inn Carryduff. There is no meeting in July or when the second Monday falls on a Public Holiday.

We issue a monthly Newsletter, which keeps all members up to date with club news and information on events, parts and services.

The Club is affiliated to the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs.

A chance meeting between local gentlemen, Bob Dowey and Hugh Grant, whilst Bob was getting his steam engine steamed up and raring to go after it being completely restored, led to Bob asking Hugh to grow a field of corn for a day`s craic at threshing. Hugh agreed and the corn was planted.

Hugh was teaching Corkley band at the time, and happened to mention the idea to a few of the band members, who thought this was brilliant and could be used to raise much needed funds for the band. Corkley band advertised the threshing and made tea, against all expectations a serious crowd attended.

This gave basis to a vintage club, as after this event Mr Eddie Crossan and John Boyle approached Hugh with the idea of forming a vintage club. Much talk and many meetings at Hugh Grants home, gave the club its foundation. Eddie Crossan happened to meet Leslie Willis on the Main Street in Markethill, after one of these meetings and in the course of conversation told Leslie about the new vintage club explaining that one stumbling block was a place to hold regular meetings, without hesitation Leslie said what about the cafe, and so a meeting place was found, Willis` Cafe.

Hugh and some of the founder members attended a vintage rally at Moneymore shortly after this and used the trip as a fact finding mission i.e. how to organise a vintage rally. Members of the Moneymore club came to Markethill and based on their sound advice, "The Boys [and girl] from County Armagh" are still going strong, now into their 32nd year.

Coleraine and District Historic Vehicle Club was founded in 1979, with a view to bringing together owners and enthusiasts of all types of historic vehicles. The aim of the Club is primarily to preserve the motoring heritage of yesteryear and to promote this theme and enjoy it with others who share this common interest.

A comprehensive events list is organized each year, in addition to supporting other Historic Vehicle Clubs at their events throughout Ulster. The Club also supports a number of charities each year as well as indirectly supporting many other charitable causes by its participation in numerous community events.

The current membership is 130 and the attendance at monthly meetings usually results in the 'standing room' only sign being displayed. Anyone owning or interested in veteran, vintage, or classic vehicles, will be made most welcome.

Meets Coleraine Yacht Club - 8.00pm, first Monday of month (second Monday in January and May)

Newry and Mourne Classic Vehicle Club currently has around 65 members coming from as far as Belfast, Downpatrick and Dundalk. The Club meets on the first Monday of each month in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre in Newry at 8.30pm. The meetings usually finish before 10pm.

Our meetings are very easy going are a great time for meeting everyone and exchanging ideas and information. Occasionally we will have a guest speaker or show a video and we are always on the look out for anything new or interesting.

During the year the Club organises several runs beginning around Easter time with our spring run. We are very fortunate to have a very energetic events secretary who continually comes up with new places to visit. In the past we have been the guests of The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese at Áras an Uachtaráin where we had a tour of the house and afterwards enjoyed a barbecue in Phoenix Park. We have also visited Stormont House in Belfast. All our runs are most enjoyable and usually go off without any hitches although we have been known to get a bit lost on occasion but that only makes it more enjoyable.

We are always on the look out for new members so if you are looking for for a bit of fun and have a good sense of direction we would love to have you along. You don`t even need to own a vintage or classic vehicle, you just need to love them, you will have plenty of offers of a lift.

Triumph Club NI has been meeting as a club since 1992. We have held and attended events all over Northern Ireland. We have also participated in the National Millennium Triumph Weekend and the around Ireland three day run. Each year we hold two open charity events.

The Ballyclare May Fair Classic Cavalcade held in 2003 proved to be a great success with many old and new participants attending a very enjoyable day with over 90 entrants.

The Stoneyford Classic Cavalcade in August was another great event enjoyed by everyone. We support mainland Triumph Clubs and have always held out a welcoming hand to members of any other club of the Triumph Marque. We have supported a local team on at least three occasions in the Reliability round Britain Run as organised by Club Triumph (2000 miles in 2 days in a Triumph).

Our charity events have raised over £15,000 over the years with the largest being £3,237 for Children with Leukaemia. We have had a club stand at Kilbroney for the past 8 years and are the only Triumph Club in Northern Ireland affiliated to the Association of Old Vehicles Clubs (AOVC (NI)), with delegates currently holding positions on the board of Directors.

As part of the AOVC we can offer members access to the discounts, which the AOVC has arranged and to all the AOVC events. In addition to organising our Ballyclare and Stoneyford events, we arrange club runs throughout Northern Ireland for members with scenic drives, visits to places of interest and finishing off with a meal.

We also attend events outside Northern Ireland; in 2003 we went to Gaydon for the 100 years of the standard mark. Each month a Laurel News newsletter is published and sent, together with entry forms for local events to all members.

Meets The Ballymac Hotel, Stoneyford - 8.00pm, last Wednesday of month

Back in 1969 we were the first vintage car club in Northern Ireland. In 1970 the club ran its first event. Back then it was run with a very relaxed format with none of the restrictive legislation that has to be followed today.

Early events consisted of road runs in scenic locations, mainly in County Antrim using Tulip diagrams for instructions. Driving tests to measure your parking distance skills, driving around obstacles, judging the height of running boards and bumpers etc were commonly used on events.

Now that the club has reached its 40th anniversary in 2009 and the cars have all got older, events have changed. We still go on scenic runs but instead of driving test we now generally include a visit to a special place of interest.

One of our founder members George McCaig and his wife Sadie are still regular attendees at club events, still using their 1933 Austin 12, a car they purchased in 1962 for £15, which just goes to prove the old slogan that you should invest in an Austin.

2009 was a very special year as we celebrated our 40th Anniversary. The club is still going stronger than ever and being run with the guidelines laid down by the foresight of the early founders. At the moment the club had over 80 members.

Meets Downshire Centre, Hillsborough.
