Driven, A Documentary

Fifty years after a couple's momentous adventure around the world in a 1930s London taxi cab, 84-year-old Alfred Hobbs intends to restore the taxi, drive it 2500 miles across America, and seek out his Jakobine, his once wife, to “give her one last drive in their taxi… before it’s too late.”...


Joined by his estranged son, who was born after Alfred left Jakobine, the two men will struggle to take the old taxi across America to find her.

"Driven" is as much a story of a father and son finally getting to know one and each, as it is a story of an old man's last wishes, and at the centre of it all, an old London taxi cab, that connects these lives.

This independent film is hoping for the support of classic car enthusiasts as part of its funding. Without such support, Alfred's dream may fade and this film may never be made.
